Official Launch of AIMS-Ghana
AIMS-Ghana is being launched as part of the AIMS Next Einstein Initiative (AIMS-NEI). AIMS-Ghana is set atop a hill in a small fishing village in the Central Region, Biriwa. Academic operations began in August 2012 in temporary facilities in Tema, Accra, and moved to the state of the art location in January 2013. The ceremony for the launch of AIMS-Ghana takes place on Friday March 15th 2013 at 11:00am at the Biriwa Campus of AIMS-Ghana. Guests include: the Minister of Education, Prof. Naana Jane Opoku Agyeman; the Minister of Environment Science and Technology, Hon. Joe Oteng Adjei; and the Canadian High Commissioner to Ghana, H.E Trudy Kernighan. The objective of this event is to launch the beginning of academic activities in Ghana and to announce to the world the start of yet another AIMS centre.
